Our Impact
At FAFCC, we believe that access to quality healthcare is a fundamental right, not a privilege.
Through our network of free and charitable clinics, we ensure that uninsured and underserved Floridians receive life-changing medical, dental, behavioral health, and pharmacy services—at no cost or a significantly reduced cost.
Delivering High-Value Care to Florida’s Communities
FAFCC member clinics provide a vital safety net for low-income individuals and families who would otherwise struggle to access essential healthcare. In 2024 alone:
- 242,573 patients received compassionate care
- 574,518 patient visits were provided across medical, dental, vision, pharmacy, and mental health services
- $266 million in total value of care delivered across Florida
- 318,131 medical visits ensured preventive and primary care services reached those in need
- 230,806 prescriptions filled, keeping patients healthy and reducing avoidable hospitalizations
- 77,504 dental visits provided critical oral healthcare, improving overall well-being
- 31,836 mental health visits addressed behavioral health needs, supporting mental wellness
This level of impact is made possible through strategic funding, dedicated healthcare professionals, and thousands of volunteers who give their time and expertise to ensure no Floridian is left behind.
A Proven Return on Investment
FAFCC clinics operate efficiently, maximizing state funding and private donations to deliver high-value, cost-effective care. With a 21-to-1 return on investment, every dollar allocated to FAFCC clinics results in significant healthcare savings by reducing emergency room visits, avoiding costly hospital stays, and preventing untreated health conditions from escalating.
Expanding Services Through State Investment
Thanks to strong support from the Governor and Florida Legislature, FAFCC secured $12.5 million in state funding in 2024, allowing clinics to expand patient capacity, enhance dental and mental health programs, and strengthen preventive care efforts. A new unified Dental & Mental Health Program Grant ensures clinics have the necessary resources to support whole-person care.
Reducing Avoidable Emergency Room Visits
By offering preventive and chronic disease management care, FAFCC clinics play a critical role in reducing unnecessary ER visits—saving both lives and healthcare costs. Preliminary findings from our ER Diversion Survey confirm that, without access to free and charitable clinics, many patients would turn to emergency rooms or forgo care entirely, leading to worse health outcomes and higher costs for the state.
Impact Beyond Healthcare
FAFCC’s work empowers communities by improving health, stability, and economic security. Patients treated in free clinics return to work healthier, avoid financial crises caused by medical debt, and experience a better quality of life. These clinics don’t just save lives—they transform them.
FAFCC remains committed to strengthening Florida’s healthcare safety net and advocating for continued investment in free and charitable clinics. With ongoing support, we can continue to expand services, reach more patients, and create a healthier future for all.
